For compliance with US Youth Soccer, Nebraska State Soccer, and US SafeSport rules and regulations, the following policy applies to all Sarpy County Soccer League games.
The team sideline / bench area is for rostered players and coaches only. Siblings, friends, parents, or any other person not on the roster should remain on the spectators' side of the field during the game. No one should be behind the goal areas during a game.
The only adults allowed on the team bench / sideline are those who are legitimately rostered to the team. For U7-U8 games this means your names must appear on an official state roster. For U9 and older games this means coaches, assistant coaches, or team managers with printed or digital passes associated with the team. All other adults should remain on the spectators side of the field during games. Spectators should be on the sideline only, not behind the goal areas unless the referee grants permission (such as to a photographer). No coaching or other instructions / advice to players shall be allowed by any spectator or coach behind the goal areas.
In an emergency situation where no legally rostered coach is available, ONE and ONLY ONE adult associated with the team may function as a coach for that game only. Any ejections or other discipline involved in that game will be applied to the head coach (e.g., if a substitute parent-coach is ejected and a suspension for the next game is warranted, it will apply to the head coach on the roster.)
Referees are instructed to ask anyone without proper documentation to leave the team sideline. If they refuse to do so, referees will abandon the match and subsequent penalties or suspensions will be applied to the rostered coaching staff.
